BSS -Bharat Sevak Samaj   

Started at the instance of Planning Commission, Government of India with the object of enabling individual citizen to contribute, in the form of an organized co-operative effort to the implimentation of the National Development Plan. The Constitution and functioning of Bharat Sevak Samaj is approve unanimously by the Indian Parliament.

Bharat Sevak Samaj is the National Development Agency, Promoted by the Planning Commission, Government of India. BSS is constituted in the year 1952, by the Indian Parliament, under the presidentship of pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, then undertake the various development activities that can cater to the national rejuventaion through social development.
As part of the national rejuvenation policy, BSS has entered into all fields of activities which can enhance the living standards of the society. The main focus of all these programmes is the development and tapping of human resources, which play a vital role of the national development. Vocational education programmes/skill up gradation programmes is one of the major activities of BSS, since 1952, in various parts of India, as per the bye-law which is approved by Indian parliament for the capacity building of the youth who are deprived of higher options.
